Island days

Crossing over to Sentosa signals that the day is different. Beaches, open spaces and resort venues give a team a sense of getting away without the travel that a trip abroad involves.

Choose for the people, not the beach

An island setting invites active formats, but not every group wants to race along the sand at midday. Think about mobility, fitness and how many colleagues would rather take part in a quieter way. A mix of a light active segment and a sheltered team challenge often suits a mixed group best.

Getting everyone onto the island

Sentosa is close to the city but it is still an island with its own access points. Decide whether the group will travel together or meet on the island, and send directions to an exact meeting place. Moving a large group between locations on the island also takes longer than people expect, so keep the number of moves small.

Weather is the main risk

Heat and sudden rain affect beach and open-air formats most. Have a sheltered fallback close to the main activity area, and keep water and shade available throughout.

For a typical running order and how to keep the day on schedule, this Sentosa team building guide is a useful companion read.

Check before you go

Access arrangements, attraction hours and rules for group activities on the island are set by the operator. Check the official Sentosa site, and for weather on the day, the Meteorological Service Singapore.
